In this episode, Adrianne welcomes back good friends Amie Varley and Sara Fung of the Gritty Nurse podcast for another lively conversation. This time they are focusing on ways individuals can take action against disparities in the American and Canadian healthcare systems. They start with the basics of defining and identifying disparities in health care and go on to describe how nurses can work towards providing more equitable care.

This episode was recorded back over the summer of 2021 while Adrianne was unemployed and unlicensed in Minnesota. She was able to get Amie and Sara of the Gritty Nurse podcast on the line (they’ve had a busy busy summer) to answer all her questions. Their focus is on Amie and Sara’s activism in their home country of Canada, pushing for safety and respect for nurses. They have created spaces for nurses in forums that had no nurses at the table and they’re going to talk about how they did it.
